From The Founder

The 70/30 Revolution.

To the Drivers of London and the Ontario Rideshare Community,

When we sat down to build a No Tips Rideshare™, we didn't start with an app—we started with a calculator.

For years, the industry has relied on the uncertainty of tips. Drivers are squeezed by rising costs and shrinking percentages. Meanwhile, riders face "tip fatigue" and social pressure.

"We knew there had to be a better way: Better Math."

We founded this company on a single, unwavering principle: The 70/30 Advantage™. By capping our platform fee at 30%, we ensure that you, the Independent Contractor, earn a fair and dignified share of every fare.

Because you are paid fairly, we’ve removed tipping entirely from the Apps. When they ride with us, the price they see is the total price they pay. We call it Zero-Friction Travel.

We are launching here in London on July 1st because this is our home. Our mission is to prove that a rideshare company can be both a sophisticated platform and a fair local partner.

Driver's Bill Of Rights

Totali Rides Bill Of Rights.

Hello Drivers,

Welcome to the team. You aren’t just a "user" of an app anymore—you are a founding partner of a London-born rideshare startup. We understand you will be running a Big Tech App or two, in the background. We also know the frustration that comes with them: the "blind" pickups, the automated bots, and the constant fear that one grumpy passenger can ruin your livelihood. With Totali Rides , the rules have changed.

We built this platform to fix the "The Big Tech Apps frustrations." Here is our Driver Bill of Rights to you:

100% Upfront Transparency:

You will always see the exact drop-off address, the total distance, your take (always totaling 70% of the Riders Fare) , and the estimated time before you hit accept. No status levels prevail, no hidden data.

The "Human-First" Rating Policy:

We do not let bots decide your fate. We believe in the power of Plurality. We will never automatically de-rate or suspend you based on a single, unsubstantiated complaint (like "rudeness" or "smell" etc). It takes multiple independent reports within a shift, or the previous or following shift, to substantiate a claim. A single only, claim remains unverified unless substantiated .

The "No-Bot" Guarantee:

If there is a substantiated dispute, you won't get a templated email. You will talk to me—a real person right here in London who understands that sometimes a "horrible driving" complaint just means you were dodging a pothole on Adelaide Street.

Unlimited Area Preferences:

Want to stay in North London/University area all day? Do it. We don't limit your filter selections to two hours. Stay where you’re comfortable, for as long as you want.

Zero-Penalty Freedom:

You are an Independent Contractor. If a ride doesn't make sense for your wallet, don’t accept it. Your acceptance rate will never be used to punish you or hide trip details, for trying to maximize your business's profitability.

As one of our Founding partners, your feedback directly shapes how we grow. We’re here to build a business that respects your time, your car, and your expertise.

Let’s get to work.

Platform Psychology

The Honest 5-Star Rating™.

At Totali, we believe a rating system should measure the quality of the service, not the size of the rider’s guilt.

The "Guilt-Adjusted" Rating Problem: In traditional rideshare apps, riders are forced to face a tip prompt before they rate. Research shows that when a rider chooses not to tip—which happens over 50% of the time—it creates a negative mental state. To justify saving that money and relieve the internal "guilt," the rider’s brain looks for a reason. They tell themselves, "The ride wasn't perfect anyway," and they lower the rating to justify their decision.

"In that system, your 4-star rating isn't a reflection of your driving; it’s a psychological cover-up for an empty tip line."

The Totali Positive-State Advantage: We’ve removed the friction. When a Totali rider reaches the end of their journey, they see a fare that is exactly what they expected. They aren't being "squeezed" for more money, so they remain in a Positive State of Mind.

When that rider is asked to rate you, they aren't looking for excuses. They are simply reflecting on the great service you provided. We call this the Honest Rating System—where a 5-star rating is a genuine "Thank You" because we treat riders fairly and they treat you honestly.

Community Safety Standards

To keep the Totali platform safe for everyone, we maintain strict adherence to Ontario provincial laws. These aren't just "app rules"—they are legal requirements for all professional drivers.

Zero-Tolerance Impairment Policy:
Ontario law mandates **absolute zero-tolerance** for alcohol or drugs for all commercial drivers while on duty. Any substantiated report of impairment will result in immediate and permanent deactivation from the platform. We take this seriously to protect your livelihood and our riders' lives.

Service Animal Requirements:
Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), you are legally required to transport riders with service animals. Denying a ride to a service animal is a violation of the law and Totali policy. Remember: Service animals are highly trained, clean, and essential for their owners' independence.

Vehicle Safety & Maintenance:
Your vehicle is your office. You are responsible for ensuring it remains in peak mechanical condition. A valid Safety Standards Certificate (SSC) must be kept on file and updated annually to remain active on the platform.

"At Totali, safety is a shared responsibility. When you drive with us, you're upholding a standard of excellence for the city of London."

FAQ

Everything You Need to Know

Clear answers on earnings, taxes, and how we get you paid.

We use Stripe Connect to handle all earnings safely. You have two options:

  • Weekly Payouts: Your earnings are automatically deposited to your bank account every week for free.
  • Instant Payouts: Need your money now? Link an eligible debit card to your Stripe Dashboard to cash out your earnings in minutes for a small 1% Stripe processing fee.

Note on Transparency: To keep our platform fee at a low 30%, we split the cost of credit card processing. Totali pays 30% of the processing fees, and the driver pays 70% (their proportional share of the 2.9% transaction cost). This ensures we can provide a high-tech platform while maintaining your 70% take.

As an Independent Contractor in Ontario, the CRA requires you to collect HST on all fares. Your 70% "Gross Take" includes this tax. For example, on a $100 fare, you receive $70.00 ($61.94 for your services + $8.06 HST). Totali automatically generates tax-compliant invoices for every ride to keep your records perfect.

You maintain your standard personal auto insurance. Totali provides the primary Commercial Fleet Insurance that covers you and your passengers while you are on a "Totali Trip," ensuring you are fully compliant with Ontario transportation regulations.

Simply upload your Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) and a recent Driving Abstract through the app. Because we are local to London, our verification team typically approves qualified drivers within 3 to 5 business days.
